50 Years of EOP
Since 1969, the Educational Opportunities Program has supported the full development of the personal and academic potential of students who have traditionally been denied equal access to higher education. The 2019-2020 academic year, EOP celebrated 50 years as the academic support program at Oregon State University for students who have faced systemic obstacles to their success.
We continue to provide a home base where students can gain a sense of belonging, work with role models from similar backgrounds who understand the university and develop skills that take them through graduation and beyond. We have grown from supporting 48 students in 1969 to 400 students today. Our graduates have gone on to achieve positions that benefit their communities, including judges, lawyers, doctors, college professors, business owners, counselors, social workers and teachers.
For our 50th anniversary, we aimed to increase support for EOP students through new scholarships and enhanced programs. Please make a gift that supports the next generation of EOP graduates.
